FAQS
Good questions deserve good answers. Here’s everything you need to know before we make something really, really *good* together.
-
We work with ambitious businesses that care about what they’re building and are ready to invest in doing it properly. Our clients range from new businesses finding their feet to established brands that have outgrown the way they currently look or communicate.
The industry matters less than the mindset. If you value strategy, personality, collaboration and good ideas, there’s a good chance we’ll get along.
-
Absolutely. Studio Goods is based in Melbourne, but branding, website and social media projects can happen from just about anywhere. Meetings can be held online, and we’ll plan the process so distance doesn’t get in the way of good work.
Brand photography and on-site event work may involve travel fees depending on the location. We’ll include those clearly in your proposal.
-
You don’t need to arrive with the perfect brief. Start by telling us what’s happening in your business, what isn’t working and where you want to go. We’ll help you work out whether you need a full brand, a website refresh, new photography, ongoing support or something else entirely.
-
First, fill out the enquiry form with a few details about your business and what you need. If it sounds like a good fit, we’ll book a discovery call to talk through your goals, scope and timing.
From there, we’ll send you a tailored proposal. Your project is officially booked once the agreement is signed and the first invoice is paid. Then the really good bit begins.
-
The earlier, the better, especially if you have a firm launch date. Most projects are booked several weeks or months ahead, and good work needs enough room for strategy, feedback and refinement.
If your timeline is tight, still get in touch. We’ll let you know honestly whether we can make it work.
-
Yes. Most larger projects are split into instalments aligned with key stages of the work. The payment schedule will be set out in your proposal. Your first payment secures your booking, and final files or a completed website are released once all outstanding invoices have been paid.
-
Usually, no. A logo on its own can’t do all the heavy lifting a brand needs. Our branding work starts with strategy, then builds a flexible visual identity that can show up consistently across the places your customers actually see you.
If you already have a strong strategy and identity system and need a specific design asset, get in touch and we can see whether it’s a fit.
-
We design and build primarily on Squarespace and Shopify, depending on what your business needs. We’ll recommend the platform that makes the most sense for your content, functionality, budget and ability to manage the site after launch.
-
Yes and no. We build websites with real-world use in mind, not so you have to email a developer every time you want to change a sentence. At handover, we’ll show you how to manage the key parts of your site like changing text and images and provide any agreed training or resources. We do not recommend changing anything structural on the website as this can result in errors and impact your website negatively.
-
Let us know as soon as possible. Because project time is reserved in advance, payments already made may be non-refundable and additional fees may apply for work completed, committed costs or rescheduling. The exact terms will be in your signed service agreement.
